Summer Reading 2026: Unearth a Story

Get ready for a roaring summer! Our annual reading program returns every June and July, packed with engaging events, special programs for all ages, and exciting reading challenges with fantastic prizes.

This summer, our theme, Unearth a Story, takes readers of all ages on an expedition through the ancient and the extraordinary — from the age of dinosaurs to the tools of paleontology, archaeology, and geology. All summer long, the library will offer programs and events that spark curiosity and bring the wonders buried beneath our feet to life.

How it Works

1. Register for summer reading by filling out the form here or using link below. (All members of the family are invited to register and participate!)

2. Pick up your summer reading packet at either the Main or Children & Youth Library. The packet includes a summer calendar, a reading/activity log, and some fun SWAG to get your summer started!

3. Start reading and attending library programs! Every time you spend time reading or attend a library program, mark it off on your log.

4. Earn prizes! Every time you fill in 5 squares (kids) or 4 squares (adults) on your log, bring it in to the library to claim a small prize. Then, keep reading!

Once you fill up your entire log, leave it at the library to be entered into our end-of-summer large prize drawing. Then start over with a new log.

Resources

When you register, it helps us stay in touch with you about all of the amazing summer adventures that will be happening at the library and helps us contact you when you win a prize. All members of the family are welcomed to register and participate!

We have a huge variety of special programs and events taking place at the library this summer. Keep up-to-date on what’s going on with our summer calendar. You can also pick up a copy at either library.
