OFPL Celebrates National Voter Registration Day

Join us on September 15th at our Main Library as we celebrate National Voter Registration Day by registering voters!

What Is National Voter Registration Day?

National Voter Registration Day is a nonpartisan civic holiday that honors our democracy. Since its inception in 2012, this holiday and its network of thousands of partners have successfully registered over 6.5 million Americans in preparation for their next trip to the ballot box.

Each September, National Voter Registration Day sees dedicated partners from all walks of life across the nation coming together for one spectacular day of coordinated fieldwork, digital outreach, and media campaigns, all aimed at strengthening our democracy.

Save the date for this year’s celebration on Tuesday, September 15th!

Art for All: 1930s Federal Art Centers

Join gallupARTS and Dr. Sara Woodbury at the Octavia Fellin Public Library for a Gallup New Deal Art guest lecture.

Dr. Woodbury’s research on federal community art centers has appeared in edited volumes, peer-reviewed journals, and digital humanities projects.

This free lecture is open to the public and offers an engaging look at federal art centers of the 1930s.

We invite you to partner with the Octavia Fellin Public Library in creating Gallup’s Human Library. We’re looking for diverse community members to participate as “Human Books” for engaging 10-minute conversations.

Grow with Google Scholarships

Earn a Google Career Certificate in less than 6 months

Octavia Fellin Public Library is partnering with Google to connect 300 of local job seekers with no cost access to the Google Career Certificates to train for well-paying, high-demand jobs in growing fields. The Certificates equip people with job-ready skills in the high-growth fields of Data Analytics, Digital Marketing and E-Commerce, IT Support, Project Management, and UX Design. The online program can be completed in three to six months of part-time study—with no degree or experience required. After finishing the program, graduates are connected with an employer consortium of over 150 companies— including Deloitte, Ford, Verizon, Walmart, and Google—that considers them for relevant roles.

With a minimal investment of 10 hours per week, you can earn one of nine Google Career Certificates in Cyber Security, Data Analytics, Advanced Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Digital Marketing & E-Commerce, IT Support, IT Automation with Python, Project Management, and UX Design. There is no limit to how many courses you can complete or certificates that you can earn. OFPL will support and guide six cohorts in 2025 with a maximum of 25 members in each cohort.
