Her work has been included in international and national publications and exhibited throughout the United States. Wilson has taught fine art courses and
served as an advisor for the Art Student Collective at the University of New Mexico for 8 years.

Currently, she teaches Jewelry and Small Metals Construction, Drawing, and Introduction to Art History as a Visiting Assistant Professor.

Botanical Watercolor Painting

SOOTHING SHOWER STEAMERS

INGREDIENTS:
• 2 cups baking soda
• 1 cup citric acid
• 1 cup arrowroot powder or cornstarch
• 4 tbsp water
• essential oils
• silicone mold

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Mix together the dry ingredients in a medium sized bowl.
2. Gently mist with water from the spray bottle a little at a time. If it starts fizzing, you are using too much water. Be sure to mix frequently so the water doesn’t react with the mixture. When it starts to form a loose ‘snowball’ type consistency. DO NOT OVER WATER!!
3. Pack the mixture into the silicone mold and place in a dry area for 12-24 hours. Once dry, pop them out of the mold.
4. When ready to use, add 3-5 drops of the desired oils and place in a warm shower.
5. Store in a dry place or closed container.

Citrus oils such as lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, or citrus fresh; peppermint

Vegetarian Mushroom Rice Cooking Demo

OFPL will celebrate Day of the Mushroom by providing a cooking demonstration. Join us on Friday, April 16th at 1:00 p.m. on Facebook @galluplibrary or YouTube at Octavia Fellin Public Library to learn how to cook a vegetarian-style mushroom rice recipe that is not only delicious but can be made for the entire family.

Vegetarian Mushroom Rice

INGREDIENTS:
• 2 teaspoons butter
• 6 mushrooms, coarsely chopped
• 1 clove garlic, minced
• 1 green onion, finely chopped
• 2 cups vegetable broth
• 1 cup uncooked white rice
• ½ teaspoon chopped
• fresh parsley
• salt and pepper to taste

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
2. Cook mushrooms, garlic and green onion until mushrooms are cooked and liquid has evaporated.
3. Stir in vegetable broth and uncooked rice.
4. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
5. Season with parsley, salt and pepper.

LEMONADE BATH BOMB

INGREDIENTS:
• 1 cup baking soda
• ½ cup cornstarch
• ½ cup citric acid
• ¼ cup epsom salt
• ½ cup lemon essential oil
• 1½ tbsp coconut oil
• yellow gel food coloring
• 1 tbsp water

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Whisk dry ingredients together. Add coconut oil, food coloring, and essential oil. Mix until ingredients are well blended.
2. Add ½ tbsp water and mix well. Check to see if the mixture holds together well by squeezing in your hand. If not, add another ½ tbsp of water.
3. Fill each side of the bath bomb mold with mixture and press to pack it down. Add a bit more of the loose mixture into each side. Press both sides of the mold together tightly. Tap gently on the side of the bowl and twist the mold to release the bath bomb. Carefully set aside to dry.
4. Let dry for a few hours and place in an airtight container or bag.

Liquid Hand Soap

Liquid Hand Soap

INGREDIENTS:

• 1/2 c. castile soap liquid
• 1/2 c. distilled water
• 1 Tbsp. vitamin E oil (optional)
• 1 Tbsp. sweet almond oil or olive oil or jojoba oil (optional)
• 15 drops tea tree essential oil optional
• 5-10 drops lavender essential oil optional

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. In a mason jar or recycled soap dispenser, add the water first (to prevent bubbles) then the liquid castile soap, followed by the oils. Shake the ingredients together.
  2. Shake the soap dispenser before using, then squirt a small amount on your hands as needed, rinsing with water.
