Teen Services @ OFPL

Teens are welcome at OFPL! Check out what we offer for teens below.

Teen Space

Our Children & Youth Library has an area of the library dedicated for teens. Our aim is to provide a versatile space that can be used for relaxing or hanging out after school, gaming, or for an area for focused reading or study.

In addition to seating, the teen area has a projector and screen available, which we sometimes use for programs, but which teens are able to connect their own gaming systems to as well.

Teen Events

For a full listing of events, please visit our homepage and view our calendar.

Friday Night Vibes: Teen After Hours

Teens ages 12-18 are invited to join us on the first Friday of every month from 6-9 PM at the Children & Youth Library for an after-hours hangout time. Play video games, watch a movie, or work in the Makerspace and learn how to3D print, laser engrave, or use our vinyl cutters. Snacks are provided!

Lit Happens: Teen Book Club

Teens ages 12-18 are invited to join us for our teen book club, which reads three books each school year together, in the fall, winter, and spring. Join us as we dig into a diverse variety of books: register to receive a free copy of the book, and then join us for fun discussion times at the Children & Youth Library where we’ll trade all the hot goss about the book.

Teen Advisory Board

Are you a teen who is wanting leadership experience to add to your resume? Or are you part of a student organization such as National Honor Society and are wanting to connect with the library as a place to do service hours? Or are you just wanting to help make the library a better place for teens?

Teens ages 12-18 are invited to join our Teen Advisory Board, which meets at the Children & Youth Library from 6-7 PM on the last Friday of each month during the school year. The TAB plans events for teens and advises the library on its teen collection. We’d love to have you join!
