COMPUTER USAGE RULES

Main Library

  1. You must provide your own storage media for saving data or information.
  2. You may use the computer for one (1) hour. If your one hour has come up and someone is waiting, the system will log you off and allow the next person to use the computer.
  3. You may not load any programs, games, etc., into the computer. If you do, you will be denied further access to the public access computers.
  4. Children 12 and under will not be allowed to use the adult computers at the Main Library unless an adult stays with them at the computer station and computers at the Children’s Branch may be used for children ages 11 and younger with signed parental permission.
  5. Only two people per computer station will be allowed at a time. It is not a group activity.
  6. Excessive noise or inappropriate use of the computer will terminate your session.
  7. The first 10 pages of printing are fee. After 10 pages, it will be $1.00 per page. No refunds.
  8. It is your responsibility to be aware that the Library’s Computers are public, and the library prohibits the display of obscene or pornographic materials. Using computers to access or display obscene materials will result in loss of privileges for the person who has signed up for the computer.
  9. You agree to use the Public Computers and/or Internet at the Octavia Fellin Public Library with the understanding that you are responsible for the appropriate use of the Internet and the computer itself. You are responsible for any damage that may occur while using the equipment specified for Computer and/or Internet use. You, hereby, hold harmless the Octavia Fellin Public Library and City of Gallup for the content of the material that is retrieved through the Internet, or for any actions that may occur as a result of such actions.

Children’s Branch

  1. You must have your library card with you or be accompanied by a parent who has one.
  2. The library account must be in good standing.
  3. Your parents must have read and agreed to the Library’s Internet Policy by signing the application.
  4. You may use the computer for 1 hour. If someone is waiting, the system will log you off and assign it to the next person. If no one is waiting, you may continue.
  5. Provide your own storage media for saving data or information.
  6. You may not load any programs into the computer or change any computer settings. If you do, you will be denied further access to the public access computers.

  9. The computers are provided for people who know how to use them. The staff can only provide limited instructions on their use.
