Mocktail Recipes:

Lime Rickey

Ingedients:
• 1 oz. Lime Juice
• 1 oz. Sugar Syrup
• 4 oz. Soda Water
• 1 Lime

Directions:
1. Take the limes and squeeze them into a glass.
2. Pour in the sugar syrup
3. Top the glass with a shaker and shake the contents thoroughly.
4. Take a tall glass, add ice.
5. Pour the shaken contents through a strainer and into the glass.
6. Add the soda water.
7. Stir.
8. Garnish with lime peel
9. Drink and enjoy!

Shirley Temple

Ingedients:

• 1.5 oz. Grenadine
• 6 oz. Ginger Ale
• 1 Lemon

Directions:
1. Pour grenadine into tall glass.
2. Add ice.
3. Pour in ginger ale.
4. Stir.
5. Garnish with lemon peel.

Cocktail Recipes:

Mojito

Ingedients:
• 1.5 oz. White Rum
• 0.75 oz. Lime Juice
• 0.5 oz. Sugar Syrup
• 4 oz. Soda Water
• 1-2 Sprigs Mint Leaves
• Lime Slices, Garnish

Directions:
1. Muddle mint leaves with simple syrup in mixing glass or tin.
2. Add lime juice, lime hull, and rum.
3. Add to milkshake glass.
4. Top with ice and soda water.
5. Roll drink back and forth in mixing glass.
6. Top with ice and garnish with mint bouquet and lime slice.
7. Drink responsibly & enjoy!

Shirley Temple

Ingedients:
• 1 oz. Vodka
• 1 oz. Grenadine
• 8 oz. Ginger Ale
• Lemon Slices, Garnish

Directions:
1. Add Ice
2. Pour vodka into the glass.
3. Pour in ginger ale.
4. Add Grenadine.
5. Garnish with lemon peel.
6. Drink responsibly & enjoy!

Peppermint Lip Balm

Ingredients:
• 1 Tbsp. beeswax
• 1 Tbsp. extra virgin coconut oil
• 1 Tbsp. shea butter
• 1 Tbsp. beef tallow
• 2 drops peppermint essential oil
• empty lip balm tube

Instructions:
1. Heat and mix all ingredients well.
2. Pour into an appropriate container.
3. Let cool.
4. Enjoy!

Clay Pinch Pots

Create your own art using materials found around your home! Courses are geared towards individuals approximately 15-years of age and older. Supply kits are available at OFPL on a first-come, first-serve basis and can be requested below.

Tune in on Monday, December 14th at 4:00 p.m. for a demonstration on creating clay pinch pots. Pinch pots are a simple form of pottery production dating back more than 17,000 years. They can be used in an ornamental fashion or have functionality.

Aromatherapy Candles

Ingredients:
• 6 c. Soy Wax Flakes
• Natural Wicks (Anchors
Optional
)
• 80-120 Drops of Essential Oil (See scent list below)
Other supplies:
• 8 oz. Mason Jars (or jars of choice)
• Stirring Utensil
• Pens or Chopsticks to Secure Wicks

Instructions:
1. Melt soy wax in a pot over low-medium heat. They should melt fairly easily but turn up the heat slightly if taking more than a few minutes.
2. Stir
3. Once melted, add essential oils.
4. Anchor wicks to the bottom of mason jars.
5. Tape wick upright to a horizontal chopstick or pen.
6. Pour the wax into the mason jar and then repeat until all jars are full.
7. Depending on the size of the mason jars you may have some wax leftover.
8. Let stand until solid (about 1 hour).
9. Cut the wick to the desired length.

Scents to Relieve Anxiety:
Bergamot, Cedarwood, Cypress, Frankincense, Hyssop, Lavender, Marjoram, Myrrh, Neroli, Orange, Peach, Rose, Rose Geranium, and Violet Leaf.

Scents to Ease Depression:
Bergamot, Clary Sage, Grapefruit, Jasmine, Lavender, Lemon, Lemon Balm, Lemon Verbena, Neroli, Orange, Petitgrain, Rose Geranium, Sandalwood, Tangerine, and Ylang-ylang.

Scents to Improve Memory:
Bay Laurel, Jasmine, Lavender, Lemon, and Rosemary.

Scents to Invigorate and Overcome Fatigue:
Angelica, Benzoin, Camphor, Cardamom, Cinnamon, Clove Basil, Cypress, Eucalyptus, Fennel, Lemon, Peppermint, Pine, Sage, and Spiced Apple.

Scents to Deal with Stress, Nervous Tension, and Insomnia:
Bergamot, Chamomile, Cinnamon, Cloves, Frankincense, Lavender, Lemon, Marjoram, Myrrh, Neroli, Nutmeg, Orange, Petitgrain, Rose, Sandalwood, Sweet Melissa, Valerian, Vanilla, Violet, and Ylang-ylang.

Scents to Calm Irritability:
Chamomile, Neroli, Rose, and Rose Geranium.

Create your own art using materials found around your home! Courses are geared towards individuals approximately 15-years of age and older. Supply kits are available at OFPL on a first-come, first-serve basis and can be requested below.

Tune in on Monday, December 7th at 4:00 p.m. for a workshop on creating a geometric work of art to hand on your wall. Using several techniques we have learned from previous Creative Corner episodes we will create geometric wall art.

Self-Care Saturday

Join us on OFPL’s Facebook @galluplibrary on Saturday, December 5th at 1:00 p.m. to make Gingerbread Sugar Scrub DIY self-care products.

GINGERBREAD SUGAR SCRUB

Ingredients:
• 1 c. brown sugar (or coconut sugar)
• 1/4 c. coconut oil, solid
• 1 tbsp. molasses
• 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
• 1 tsp. ground ginger
• 1/4 tsp. ground cloves

Instructions:
1. Combine brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger and cloves in a large bowl.
2. Top with coconut oil and molasses
3. Using the back of a fork mash the wet ingredients into the dry to make a crumbly mixture. Depending on how solid the coconut oil is, you may need to use your hands.
4. Place scrub into a mason jar with a secure lid. Will last for several months in a cool location.

To use:
1. On wet or dry skin, apply scrub liberally all over the body.
2. Scrub into the skin to remove dead skin cells.
3. Wash off completely.
