Ethnic Textiles (Mola) Pillows

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with vibrant and geometric mola textiles. Join OFPL on Facebook, @galluplibrary or YouTube on Monday, September 27th at 4:00 PM to create your own mola pillow.

These pillows are inspired by the intricate and hand-sewn designs of the Kuna people located in Panama and Colombia.

Supply kits are available at OFPL on a first-come, first-serve basis using the Supply Request Form.

First Peoples’ Film Festival

Celebrate Native American Heritage Month with us at Main Library from Monday, November 18th through Thursday, November 21st featuring films that are directed, produced, or written by Native Americans from various tribes and nations.

The films feature Native American historical context, comical context, and/or contemporary subject matter.

Icons & Symbols of Our Regional Heritage

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage with us at the Main Library on Thursday, October 10th at 6:30 p.m. and experience a visual journey. Regional artist Diana Molina will present the spirit of New Mexico’s heritage through symbols and iconographic representations, sometimes with a distinctly modern twist. Her photographic collections illustrate popular symbols and also some less familiar female icons.
