OFPL is connecting their patrons with millions of readers during the next Big Library Read, the world’s largest digital book club. From Monday, June 28th to Monday, July 12th, readers can solve a compelling mystery in S.F. Kosa’s debut thriller, The Quiet Girl, eBook from their public library.

Card holders can borrow the ebook without waiting by visiting Overdrive or downloading the Libby app. Readers can then discuss online at Big Library Read Discussion Forum.

Open your ears and minds to the world of music by celebrating the day harmonizing on a harmonica. Music instructor John Boomer will show the basics of playing the harmonica.

The library will have a limited supply of harmonicas available through curbside pick-up. Make a curbside request and have your harmonica ready for World Day of Music.

Author Talk: From Manga to Novel – Writing a Scene

Join us LIVE on Facebook, @galluplibrary on Saturday, May 15th at 2:00 p.m. for a talk featuring Giao Chi, author of The Girl Who Kept Winter.

Writing a scene takes a great deal of thoughtful planning and hard work. Whether it is for a novel or a comic, a scene has many details that need to be formulated before it is presented.

Connect with Giao Chi as she discusses this process with her audience. Originally from Vietnam, Giao Chi has published more than 300 comics. At the age of 13, she won a professional comic scriptwriting award.
